A 12-year-old boy from Badalona, Enoch , has been missing since he disappeared in Honduras , his family's country of origin, on December 2 , where he had traveled. Relatives of the child have explained to media in the Central American country that the child was allegedly abducted during what they believe was an assault on the family's home in the city of Tela, when Enoc had been on vacation for two weeks. In the days after the child's trail was lost, the bodies of the grandfather, an uncle, the babysitter who was taking care of him and a neighbor were located in the immediate vicinity of the house. The Honduran police have not found the child. His mother thinks he remains kidnapped.

"I have faith that my son is alive, so I ask the authorities not to stop looking for him," said the parent to the local press. The woman, who remains in the country so that she does not give up on the search , says that residents of the town where Enoch arrived in mid-November say they have seen the child, which pushes relatives and neighbors to continue tracking. The mother has sent a letter to the president of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández , in which he claims that the rescue operation should not be terminated and expanded with more troops, the newspaper La Prensa publishes.

Enoc attends ESO first at the Rafael Alberti Institute in Badalona, where he arrived two and a half years ago. Parents and students of the center have concentrated on Saturday with members of the Honduran community in the Plaza Catalunya in Barcelona, where about 50 people have asked the Government of Honduras to get involved in finding the child.

"We implore the president to help us, that if he has to move heaven and earth to find him to do so, not only for Enoch, but for all the disappeared and murdered people whose cases have gone unpunished," said one of the aunts of the minor, Doris Patricia Santos Moscoso, during the demonstration, reports Efe. The UN points to Honduras as one of the countries plagued by violence in Central America, with 41.7 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants.

Honduran media realize that the country's police have detained a 29-year-old man who is related to the four murders linked to the event. Days later another man was arrested, accused of extorting relatives of the child, posing as a kidnapper and asking for two million lempiras (about 73,200 euros) in exchange for releasing him. For its part, the Badalona City Council indicates that it receives support from the Government Delegation to mediate in favor of the family.
