He noted the role of Qaboos bin Saeed Al Saeed in strengthening the status of Oman on the world stage.

The Israeli Prime Minister also congratulated the Minister of Heritage and Culture of Oman, Heysam bin Tariq Al Saeed, on his appointment as Sultan and expressed hope that he will continue the policy of ensuring peace in the region.

The Sultan of Oman, who ruled the country since 1970, died at the age of 79.

In the UAE and Qatar declared a three-day mourning in connection with his death.
