And here comes Lyon again! Probable winner in Bordeaux (2-1), OL made its comeback at the top of the Ligue 1 table on Saturday for the 20th day, still fatal in Toulouse which conceded against Brest (5-2) its 10th defeat in the league ...

- Lyon is gaining height -

After spending the end of the year celebrations in a somewhat shiny 12th place, OL finally found the first part of the ranking, more in line with its status and its budget. To go back to 6th place, Rudi Garcia's team delivered a rather convincing match in Bordeaux, only marred by a chronic awkwardness, in defense as in attack.

Behind, the Dane Joachim Andersen continues to wear his most expensive rookie cross in OL history (24 M EUR): the central defender facilitated the opening of the score from Bordeaux with a failed back pass that Jimmy Briand only had to push to the bottom (15th).

And even if Lyon has arch-dominated, it also spoiled a lot, like Maxwel Cornet. But the Ivorian winger caught up: first by equalizing with a deflected shot (50th), then by launching Moussa Dembélé on the action of 2-1 (53rd). Little help from fate, the equalizing goal of Laurent Koscielny at the end of the match was canceled for offside after recourse to video arbitration (85th).

For Dembélé, author of his 11th goal in Ligue 1, it is a release after more than a month without scoring in the league. And this is the kind of performance that may further increase the rating in England of the attacker, deemed untransferable by OL ...

- Montpellier finally outside winner -

A bitten head from Gaëtan Laborde (50th), an overpowered recovery from Andy Delort (83rd), and Montpellier knocked down Amiens 2-1 to clinch their first away win this season in Ligue 1.

Didn't the Héraultais win far from home during the first leg? It is repaired and it allows them to invite themselves into the provisional top 5 of the ranking (5th, 30 pts).

They are only three lengths from Rennes (3rd, 33 pts), beaten 1-0 Friday by Marseille (2nd, 41 pts).

The MHSC is also ahead of Lyon (6th, 29 pts), Nantes (7th, 29 pts), Angers (8th, 29 pts), held back 1-1 by Nice on Saturday, and Monaco (9th, 28 pts), which moves with his new coach Robert Moreno on the lawn of the untouchable leader Paris on Sunday evening.

- Toulouse sinks a little deeper -

Nothing is decidedly spared Toulouse FC, which conceded Saturday against Brest (5-2) its 10th defeat in a row in Ligue 1, two losses from the worst series in the history of the French Championship.

After the rapid opening of the Brest score, signed Yoann Court (8th), it was long believed that the hero of the evening would be Bafodé Diakité (19 years old): the young defender scored his first two goals in L1 (17th, 20th ).

And then patatras for the new coach Denis Zanko, former boss of the training center bombarded coach after the dismissal of Antoine Kombouaré: his team sank at the end of the match on a magnificent volley by Gaëtan Charbonnier (72nd), author of a double in the process (77th). And the clear strike of Hianga'a Mbock (79th) and the powerful shot of Irvin Cardona (85th) finished knocking out the Toulouse.

- Nîmes and Metz bounce back -

In an ultra-tight bottom of the table, one of the good operations was successful by Nîmes, winner in numerical superiority of Reims thanks to a goal by Renaud Ripart after a defensive scramble (16th) then a free kick by Yassine Benrahou (90th 3).

The "Crocodiles" will not sulk their pleasure: they had not won in Ligue 1 since September, or 12 consecutive games without a win!

Note also the victory of Metz (1-0) against Strasbourg, which allows the Lorrainers to breathe a little better at 16th place in the ranking ...
