Monaco confirmed its status as the new leader of the Elite championship, won during the previous day at the expense of Villeurbanne, by winning on the Strasbourg prosecutor's office (98-83), Saturday during the 18th day which saw a status quo in the top 8.

The Monegasques won the four quarters (25-21, 24-21, 27-25, 22-16) led by JJ O'Brien (21 pts, 3 rebounds, 4 assists) and Wilfried Yeguete (16 pts, 8 rebounds, 2 passes).

Dijon comforted him, not without difficulty, his third place by coming to the end of the red lantern, Le Portel (86-84) boosted in his room. Hooked in the first three quarters (60-60), the Dijonnais did not measure their opponents until the start of the last period.

Sunday, Villeurbanne will try to get back to the right place in Limoges, after the two consecutive defeats suffered in Jeep Elite in Monaco (79-59), then in Euroleague in Belgrade (83-80) after having let slip an advantage of 19 points.

These two defeats respectively ejected the Villeurbannais from the first place of the championship and the Top 8 of the Euroleague.
