11 January 202014.29 The cost of the wave of bad weather that hit Italy in the autumn amounts to over 5.6 billion euros. So did the Civil Protection department, which sent the file to Brussels with an estimate of the damage found. Direct damage to buildings, infrastructure and production activities is over 4.5 billion, and emergency management costs are over 1.1 billion. The department sent the file in order to activate the EU Solidarity Fund (FSUE) intended to support the Member States affected by disasters.
