The UAE has delivered a 20-megawatt transformer station dedicated to raising the efficiency of the Mokha Steam Power Station, as part of the continuous support that the Emirates provide to the Yemeni brotherly people in all sectors to re-normalize life after the difficult circumstances it passed through.

The Director of Humanitarian Affairs for the Emirates Red Crescent Authority in Yemen, Muhammad Al Junaibi, handed over the station to the local authority in the Mukha Directorate represented by the Director of the Directorate Abdul Rahim Al-Fateh, in the presence of the Director General of Networks at the General Electricity Corporation Taiz branch, Engineer Abdo Hassan.

After removing the curtain to mark the operation of the station and its entry into active service, the Director of Humanitarian Affairs of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority and the Director of Mocha and Attendance Directorate toured the project departments.

Al-Junaibi stressed that the UAE, under the guidance of its wise leadership, will take the service and development sectors in the western coast in Yemen with the utmost attention, including the electricity sector, which is the backbone of life. Citizens in Al-Mokha and surrounding areas, which almost went out of service due to the weakness of old power transformers.

He said that the UAE has a well-thought out humanitarian and development plan that includes all sectors, so as to ensure the normalization of life in the West Coast.

For his part, Al-Fateh stressed that the UAE attaches special importance to Yemen since the era of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “May God rest his soul.” Until today, under the wise leadership of the state and the UAE’s support, it continues through its humanitarian arm, the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, which has been implementing development and service projects since At first sight, it reaches the West Coast.

He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the UAE for what it has provided and will provide to the Yemeni people in the West Coast and in all governorates.

Abdo Hassan said: “The new station presented by the UAE will work to reduce the electricity crisis that the city of Mokha and its environs have suffered, due to the weakness of the old transformers and will address the problems of the transfer station. He added, "This support provided by the Emirates is an extension of a large number of projects that it has provided to the electricity sector in the past."
