According to TASS, the relevant decisions were made by the Geneva Arbitration Court in April 2019.

According to court orders, the judges did not agree with the arguments of the Russian side that the investments of Ukrainian companies due to a change in the jurisdiction of Crimea do not fall under the intergovernmental agreement between Russia and Ukraine on mutual protection of investments from 1998.

It is noted that the Federal Court "found the complaint unreasonable that changing borders requires an additional agreement between the parties."

The court also did not agree with the arguments of the lawyers of the Russian side that the Geneva arbitration court does not have the competence to consider this issue.

According to Swissinfo, the Swiss Federal Court in the framework of this case ordered Moscow to pay 80 million francs ($ 82.1 million) to 12 Ukrainian companies.

Crimea became the Russian region after a referendum held there in March 2014, in which most residents spoke out for reunification with Russia.
