Early on Wednesday morning, at 06.12 local time, Flight PS752 takes off from Iran's international airport. At first, all flight data looks normal - but after just under three minutes the signal disappears. Later, it is clear that the plane, with 176 passengers on board, crashed.

On Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that 17 people in Sweden are among the dead. Madeleine Persson's father Mahdi Emami, 60, who greeted relatives in Iran, never returned home.

- I don't understand that my dad is no longer there. I am still waiting for a text message from him where he writes “I will come home,” she tells SVT News.

Got a text message about the crash

The last time Madeleine Persson had contact with her father was on January 7.

"Hope the trip goes well, hear from you when you land," she wrote in a text message.

"I promise. I land at 12. I love you, ”he replied.

The following day, Madeleine Persson woke up with a text message that an aircraft had crashed in Iran. At first she thought her father had taken another flight. Then she found the passenger list on the internet - with her dad's name.

- I screamed straight out. The tears did not stop flowing. My world went down.

Mahdi Emami is one of the Swedes who was on the planet.

"Many relatives who are worried"

When Madeleine Persson contacted the Foreign Ministry, they had no information to give her, she says.

- They just said that they had no list of passengers, but that they would call back. I was called the next day but they still didn't know anything.

She is, like several relatives SVT News talked to, critical of the lack of information from the authority.

- Why don't they know anything? I understand that they have to identify the bodies, but we should still have a list of passengers. There are many relatives who are worried.

On Thursday, Madeleine Persson received the death notice from the police. Now burial awaits, probably in Iran because Mahdi Emami's remains are there. A funeral that the daughter may not be able to attend.

- As it seems today, you dare not go there. It feels awful not to say hello to Dad.
