In the report "Reservhamn Gotland", the County Administrative Board has analyzed how transport of goods, travelers and vehicles to the island should be less vulnerable. It is noted that a serious accident in the port area would have major consequences for the population and all activities.

- Without a reserve port, Gotland is very vulnerable. If ferry connections do not work, food supply becomes critical already after a few days, while health care is lacking in medicines and clean textiles, says Amy Rankin, crisis and emergency strategist at the county administrative board, in a press release.

The report has now been submitted to the Swedish Transport Administration.
