Metropolitan Police says an attack on a prison officer by two inmates wearing fake suicide belts at HMP Whitemoor in Cambridgeshire is being treated as a terrorist attack

According to The Guardian, the incident occurred on Thursday, January 9, in the morning. Prisoners wearing fake suicide belts were armed with home-made knives.

As a result of the attack, a prison officer was injured in the head and neck, and four more prison officers were injured, who came to his aid.

It is clarified that the crime is suspected of 24-year-old convicted of terrorism by Brust Ziamani, the alleged accomplice - a prisoner who was convicted of violence.

The investigation is carried out by the counterterrorism unit of the police.
