Recordings of phone calls to former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razzaq revealed the role of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed in the corruption scandals in Malaysia.

The Anti-Corruption Commission of Malaysia published a recording of two phone calls, Abdel Razzaq asked bin Zayed in one of them to transfer money to Reda Aziz, the son of Abdel Razzaq's wife residing in New York, so that it appears as a gift from bin Zayed to cover the expenses of the production of a film produced in Hollywood and commissioned Reda Aziz Tens of millions of dollars.

In the 2016 call, bin Zayed promised to solve a money laundering case in which the son of Abdel Razzaq's wife was involved and was pending before the US courts at the request of the US Department of Justice.

Naguib Abdel-Razzaq and Mohamed bin Zayed agreed at the time to meet soon to discuss the details, to avoid any legal problems. It is clear from the recordings that it was Mrs. Rusma, the wife of Abdul-Razzaq, who prompted him to call the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi to help get her son out of his dilemma before the American judiciary.

The records show Naguib and Bin Zayed warned against talking in detail on the phone, and the former Malaysian Prime Minister did not deny the phone conversation, but he warned that disclosing the records of phone calls would harm diplomatic relations and national interests, and asked about the legality of spying on a prime minister while he was In power and timing of their disclosure.
