The governing politicians in Malung-Sälen, the social democrats, the liberals and the center, last week stated that they would like the controversial large wind farm at Ripfjället west of Malung to be built and that no referendum should be held on the issue.

Although a large collection of names demanded that the people should enjoy the spins.

But the opposition of the top politicians is not enough to stop the referendum. They must also have support from parts of the opposition - but they do not receive it today.

The Council meeting where the decision is made is February 17.

- This is a question of democracy. And if there is a large turnout and a large majority against the wind power, then I can change my opinion too, says Mikael Östling (M).
