Placed in police custody Wednesday after an altercation with his wife, the ex-boxer "yellow vest" Christophe Dettinger will have to follow a course on domestic violence, announced the prosecution of Evry, this Thursday.

Christophe Dettinger admitted "having pushed his wife", from whom he is separated, after she had degraded his vehicle, said the prosecution. The altercation occurred against the background of child custody, said a source close to the file on Wednesday.

A two-day internship at his expense

His wife was not injured and did not wish to be examined by a doctor, said the prosecution. She had presented Tuesday to the gendarmerie of Lardy (Essonne) to report this altercation and Christophe Dettinger had been summoned the next day, said the gendarmerie. Christophe Dettinger will have to follow a two-day domestic violence awareness course, at his expense.

Former professional boxer, Christophe Dettinger had been sentenced to one year in prison (converted into semi-liberty) and 18 months suspended sentence with probation, for having hit gendarmes during a demonstration of "yellow vests" in January 2019 in Paris. The Evry public prosecutor's office "took account of this reprieve and the fact that Mr. Dettinger had been sentenced for serious acts of violence", it was specified. The Paris court will also decide on January 20 whether Christophe Dettinger will be able to receive the 145,000 euros from the prize pool created to support it, which had been blocked by the online fundraising platform Leetchi.
