A meeting will be held Friday, January 10 in Matignon between the government and the unions on the organization of a conference on the financing of pensions, as claimed by the CFDT. The pivotal age at 64, intended to save money, remains at the heart of the block. Within the Republic in March, the firmness of Edouard Philippe on this point creates a certain uneasiness.

We have to stop the pivotal age. There are red lines that should not be crossed and it was one, so we must come back to it. It is compulsory ”. Delphine Bagarry is not the only walking MP to want to drop the pivotal age as quickly as possible. Three quarters of the group would think like her. Impossible to verify it, but the internal sling is very real. And it targets Edouard Philippe, the Prime Minister , accused of wanting to reform " alone against all ". Jean-François Césarini is one of the voices of the left wing of the majority: “ We cannot behave today in the face of partners, as if they were people who are against us. So you have to adjust the starting age according to the hardship. There is a real way out of the crisis. The Prime Minister must indeed understand this ”.

A certain uneasiness in the ranks of LaREM

Another critic who returns to the ranks of the Republic in March: Edouard Philippe would only seek to save money to please his family of origin, the right. The deputy En Marche Guillaume Chiche, ex-socialist, disputes the Prime Minister's financial argument: " If in the bill, there is no pivotal age, that does not mean that there is no has no financial balance. All of this is debated, but it should not be made a prerequisite ”.

Another elected official is worried about the Prime Minister's lack of flexibility: " if we can't get this reform through, it's a halt for the rest of the quinquennium ". Anxious to appease the climate with his majority, Edouard Philippe receives this Wednesday evening in Matignon several deputies responsible for pensions in the Assembly.

Unions still expecting

Union side, the CGT, a fortiori, does not disarm.

From the moment when the Prime Minister, along with all the employers, repeat that there is no question of increasing social security contributions, that is to say to allow air to be given to the pension system to improve pensions everyone, whatever the methods they want to find and in particular this famous conference that they want to set up from Friday, it leads to working longer ...

CFDT side, despite some gestures to satisfy it, with in particular the conference on the financing of this new pension scheme which will be discussed on Friday, the first union in France continues to ask for the drop of the pivotal age at 64 years.

On RFI, the delegated president of Medef, Patrick Martin was not very tender with the CFDT which seems to be in the crosshairs of the employers' organization. On the eve of a major new inter-professional mobilization, Patrick Martin denounces the blocking attitude of the CFDT, a union which wanted this reform and which, according to him, blocks the progress of the debate.

Regarding the continuation of the mobilizations, Laurent Berger, secretary general of the CFDT without calling to demonstrate with the other unions, promises to organize rallies in the regions in the coming days. Its prerequisite, the removal of the pivotal age at 64 proposed by the government.

Our actions, whether on the 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th or 13th, as long as these clarifications do not take place, we will carry them out in different forms ... Our mobilized sectors will be ...
