A 4.5 magnitude earthquake struck the southwestern region of Iran on Wednesday where the Bouchehr nuclear power plant is located, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The 10-kilometer-long earthquake rocked an area 17 kilometers southeast of the city of Borazjan at 6:49 a.m. (3:19 a.m. GMT), according to the website of the American institute, and the tremor was felt in Bouchehr, where the eponymous Iranian nuclear power plant is located, according to the official Iranian agency Irna. No casualties and no damage has been reported in the immediate future, according to Irna, who quotes a manager from the plant.
