The staff at Rönnbäret talked and tried on Tuesday to calm the elderly who are worried about the night's event.

- There was an elderly woman living here who got a call in the middle of the night. The caller wanted to know where she was storing her jewelry. The woman became very worried and had trouble sleeping afterwards, says Jonas Niklasson, section manager at Rönnbäret.

Warns others

Those who live on Rönnbäret are older people with varying care needs. Many have their own telephone subscriptions that do not go through any switch at the accommodation or at the municipality.

- It is therefore easy for outsiders to contact our tenants by phone, says Jonas Niklasson.

He on Tuesday called on the residents and their relatives to pay attention to calls that do not feel "correct".

- If this happens again, the person receiving a call should not answer questions but refer to the managers and then hang up, says Jonas Niklasson.

He also wants the victim to make a police report.

- I have informed my colleagues at other care homes that they should also pay attention. Hopefully, those who do this will get cold feet and stop scaring and trying to steal from the elderly, says Jonas Niklasson.
