Reims became the first qualifier for the League Cup semi-finals by defeating defending champion Strasbourg on penalties Tuesday (0-0, 4-2) in Champagne.

Eliminated at the last minute by Monaco in the Coupe de France last weekend (2-1), the Champenois reach the last four of the Coupe de la Ligue for the second time in their history 13 years after their semi-final lost in January 2007 against Bordeaux (2-1), winner that year.

But even when passing the Strasbourg obstacle, holding the title, the road to the final is far from clear. Because Paris, Lille and Lyon, the first three of the last Championship, are still in the race.

The Lyonnais will open the ball on Wednesday against Brest (6:45 pm), before PSG and Lille will receive Saint-Etienne and Amiens respectively in the evening (9:05 pm).
