The US military announced Monday night to number two of the Iraqi military command that it would "reorganize" the anti-jihadi coalition forces with a view to " a safe and effective withdrawal from Iraq ," in a letter from which the AFP was able to consult a copy.

Two military officials, one American and one Iranian, confirmed to the AFP the authenticity of the letter, signed by General William H. Seely, commander of the US military operations in Iraq. " We respect his sovereign decision that orders our departure, " the letter adds, a day after the Iraqi parliament passed a motion to urge the government to expel foreign troops from Iraq.
