The event's Facebook page currently has 280 participants. But it will take much more to break the world record for the largest gathering of Smurfs. At Landerneau in Finistère, the Carnival of the starry wrestling team set out to challenge this unusual record. The gathering is scheduled for Saturday March 7 at the Palud Gardens. And to enter Guiness World Records, the Breton town will have to do better than the 2,762 participants listed on February 16 in the German city of Lauchringen.

The rules are however strict to beat the record as specified by the organizers of the carnival, which will be held a month later. To be counted, the Smurfs will have to wear a white cap, white short pants and everything else will have to be entirely blue.

The Smurfs should have a white cap, a white dress, white heels, a blonde wig and everything else should also be entirely blue. As for the Great Smurfs, they will have to wear a red cap, pants or red shorts as well as a beard and a white mustache.
