The International Institute for Tolerance has announced the extension of the nomination period for the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Tolerance” from all countries of the world, until January 15th, in response to the demand for registration, and to make way for more distinguished initiatives at the level of institutions and individuals from everywhere, To participate in the award launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in the framework of the UAE’s keenness to promote the values ​​of tolerance globally, and to honor the owners of effective initiatives in their consolidation.

The award celebrates initiatives and accomplishments from the four sides of the world, whether from institutions or individuals, and consolidates tolerance and its societal and human values ​​at the national and global levels, and actively contributes to strengthening its role as a means of human communication and cross-border civilizational interaction and diverse cultures. It also encourages more institutions and individuals to take the initiative, and contribute to strengthening the pillars of tolerance, communication, openness and coexistence, dialogue between cultures, civilizations and followers of religions, and highlighting the tolerant values ​​of Islam calling for peace.

The award commenced since the second half of November 2019, by receiving personal and institutional nominations through its website www.mbrtawards.ae for specific initiatives from around the world that support the values ​​of tolerance and enhance their presence in daily life and local communities, institutional policies, government legislation and international laws.

The managing director of the International Institute for Tolerance, Dr. Hamad Sheikh Ahmed Al-Shaibani, said that the award reflects the keenness of the state leadership to honor the initiatives that establish shared global values ​​and reflect positively on the dedication of human societies that respect human values ​​and make tolerance a higher value.

He stressed the importance of celebrating the owners of the initiatives that make a positive difference in consolidating tolerance, and their efforts, by participating in nominating entities and individuals from all countries of the world for the award, and registering them and their quality initiatives on the award site.
