CNN and CBS reported that the US Department of Homeland Security warned of a possible Iranian attack on Tuesday.

Acting Secretary of Homeland Security issued a new national terrorism warning system.

This is due to the heightened tensions between the United States and Iran, as the U.S. drone killed the commander Soleimani of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Kuds.

The announcement noted that "Iran has a strong cyber program and can launch cyber attacks against the United States."

Iran says it has the ability to conduct attacks that could disrupt the nation's core infrastructure, at least in the short term.

The announcement also says Iran is likely to regard terrorist activities as a means of restraining or retaliating against the enemy, and warned that violent extremists, who were spontaneous in the United States, could launch individual attacks using heightened tensions.

The announcement, however, states that "at present there is no information suggesting a specific and reliable threat to the US mainland.
