Tensions are still very high between taxis and VTC. Friday, a taxi driver was tried before the criminal court of Rennes for having violently attacked an Uber driver, reports Ouest-France . The altercation had occurred on February 9 in front of the airport of Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande south of Rennes.

While waiting for customers in the lobby, the Uber driver was allegedly insulted by the taxi driver. The latter then allegedly struck the victim before attempting to strangle him. For these facts "of certain gravity" according to the prosecutor, the taxi driver was sentenced to four months in prison suspended.
