For the second day in a row, rockets have fallen over Baghdad - during Sunday, six people were injured in the attacks, which were aimed at the green zone, where the US embassy and several government buildings are located. It states Reuters police sources.

SVT News has been in contact with a Swedish who is present in Baghdad and he is worried that the threatening situation will continue to escalate.

- The situation is reminiscent of 2003 when the US invaded Iraq. People bunk foodstuffs waiting for war to come at any time. American drones and fighter aircraft are heard over Baghdad. The sirens are heard and mixed with the sound of rocket bangs, he says.

The man wants to be anonymous in fear of his safety.

"Feels like it's going to be a proxy war anytime soon"

The Swede is not alone in being worried.

- Today it was more uneasy than yesterday and we believe that every day will be worse than the day before. It feels like there will be a proxy war at any time (war through agents, redo notice) in Iraq between the US and Iran. We are most concerned about Iran's attacks because they are not as specific as the US attacks.

Over the weekend, the US, Iran and Iraqi militias continued to target new threats. On Sunday, the Iraqi Parliament also voted in a resolution calling for the government to demand that the US-led coalition that opposes IS withdraw from Iraq.

This means that Sweden can also be forced to leave.

- The need for international cooperation remains to fight Daesh (IS, ed.), Foreign Minister Ann Linde tells SVT News.

Swedish Embassy undamaged

Late on Sunday evening, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Swedish embassy in Baghdad has not been affected by the rockets against the green zone.

- The embassy has not been affected by the rocket fire and has today conducted regular operations. Otherwise, we do not comment on security issues, says Linn Duvhammar at the Foreign Ministry's press service to the news agency TT.
