At least two rockets landed Sunday evening in the vicinity of the US embassy inside the heavily fortified Green Zone in central Baghdad.

Iraqi sources confirmed that two rockets landed in the vicinity of the American embassy, ​​after he heard loud explosions that shook the Green Zone.

The sources also confirmed that civilians were wounded by a missile that landed on a residential house opposite the US embassy in the capital, in addition to injuries in the Jadriya area near the suspension bridge leading to the embassy.

Unconfirmed reports indicated casualties on the opposite side of the embassy, ​​as Iraqi sources reported that an entire family was wounded by a missile.

These developments come after the Iraqi parliament announced earlier Sunday, a decision to remove foreign forces from the country. Also, a day after targeting the Green Zone and Balad Air Base, with a number of Katyusha rockets, wounding 8 people, including 3 soldiers.

The Green Zone is located in Baghdad, a heavily fortified area that includes government buildings and the headquarters of foreign diplomatic missions.
