Kuwait denied using military bases on its soil to carry out attacks against specific targets in a neighboring country, while the Kuwaiti government held a mini-meeting of military and security leaders.

The Chief of Staff said on its website on Twitter today, Sunday, regarding "what is being circulated in some media and social communication of false information about the use of the military bases of the State of Kuwait to carry out attacks against specific targets in one of the neighboring countries.

This comes in the wake of what the Iraqi "League of the Righteous" movement - close to Iran - announced that the American plane that bombed the convoy of the Quds Force commander, Qassem Soleimani, was launched from Kuwait, according to a statement of the movement carried by the Anatolia Agency.

Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Authority, along with eight leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and the Iraqi crowd were killed last Friday in a US air strike near Baghdad airport.

In the context, Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah held a small meeting of the military and security leaders today, Sunday, in the context of government preparations towards the latest developments in the region after the killing of Soleimani and Iran's threats to retaliate.

On the other hand, a Saudi official told the French News Agency, asking not to be identified, that "the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has not been consulted about the American attack," adding, "Given the rapid developments, the Kingdom stresses the importance of demonstrating restraint to prevent any action that could lead to escalation".
