Real scenes of happiness filmed and shared on social networks. Heavy rain fell over southeast Australia on Sunday, dropping up to 100mm of water in the Sydney area, an area affected by severe drought, reports the Huffington Post . Something to delight the inhabitants, especially the farmers of the region.

A man running in underwear in the rain, a woman swimming in a puddle ... Australians are happy to find the rain. It should be said that, in the south-east of Australia, the state of New South Wales (where Sydney is located) was declared in a state of drought in December 2018.

Farmers hope to save their crop

In some cities, the water tanks were lowered to 1% of their capacity and some areas even ran out of water. Drought is a characteristic of Australia, but scientists believe that extreme climates are exacerbated by climate change.

However, the rains will not be enough to stem the three-year drought in the country. Farmers, particularly affected by these weather conditions, hope to recover part of their harvest. Some have chosen not to plant anything this year, or to uproot their plantations. This humidity is welcome for cattle farmers, who are forced to buy expensive feed grains to keep their herds alive.
