Yesterday it was reported that a Swedish man of the age of 60, who was the director of a Swedish authority, was found dead in Romania. The police launched a preliminary investigation into murder, to ensure that the cause of death had not been caused by any crime.

But the man's death was probably due to a stroke, reports the Romanian newspaper Libertatea.

"The probable cause of death seems to be a stroke, but we can't prove it until the autopsy is complete," Ramona Dabija, spokesman for the Romanian police, told the newspaper.

Want to take part in the autopsy protocol

Chamber Prosecutor Johan Lindmark at the National Unit for International and Organized Crime, who leads the murder investigation, writes in an email to SVT News that during Friday he sent a request to Romanian authorities to take part in the autopsy protocol as soon as possible to assess the cause of death.

"I don't know if they started the autopsy and even less when they have a completed protocol," he writes.
