Five students at the Higher College of Technology in Ras Al-Khaimah reached a way to protect workers in factories while performing their tasks, by creating a robotic arm, which the worker uses to accomplish difficult tasks, and the arm can be controlled by wearing a glove connected by a robotic hand with wires.

The student Ahmed Al-Shumaili said that the 3D printed robotic arm took about two semesters, and contains five electrical generators, for each generated finger, and then it can be controlled wired by moving the glove with the human hand towards the desired goal. He added: “We were inspired by the idea of the robotic arm through our visits to a number of factories, and we witnessed how its workers are exposed to various accidents during work, which sometimes reach to the hands of some of them, due to dealing with machines directly, so we turned to the need to benefit from artificial intelligence and technology Modern to find innovation that protects these workers. ” Al-Shumaili added, “We presented more than one idea in this field, and the opinion settled on the idea of the robotic arm, and I participated in its implementation with four of my colleagues, who are: Abdullah Al-Tunaiji, Faisal Tahnoun, Ghanem Al-Ali and Sultan Al-Harami.” He pointed out that they are targeting during the next stage the development of the robotic arm, so that it works wirelessly, and provide it with the necessary programming and technology so that it simulates the movement of the human hand naturally. The Higher Colleges of Technology in the country, and the other in the branch of the Higher Colleges of Technology in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. He explained that the prototype of the robotic arm is made of plastic, and the team conducted several experiments on it, all of which led to good results.
