In Tunisia, after more than a month and a half of negotiations, the Prime Minister designated by the Ennahdha party unveiled the composition of his government, this Thursday, January 2, 2020.

The suspense will have lasted until the end but Tunisia has finally the composition of its new government. Twenty-eight ministers for portfolios mainly made up of independent personalities in the words of Habib Jemli, the head of government designated by the Ennahdha party .

This agricultural engineer by training and former secretary of state had for almost two months the difficult task of forming a government in a fragmented political landscape without a real parliamentary majority. Its composition is not surprising and many names remain little known to the general public like those of the three sovereign ministries, Justice, Interior and Defense all entrusted to magistrates. From the former government, only two survivors, including the popular Minister of Tourism, René Trabelsi reappointed.

In the list, many former ministers went under the wind during the troika regime , the tripartite coalition led by the Ennahdha party after the revolution , but also Fadhel Abdelkefi, new Minister of Development, closer to the party At the heart of Tunisia.

If the political colors are not too displayed in this new composition, lack of agreement with the political parties present during the negotiations, the big unknown remains the vote of confidence in the Parliament that Habib Jemli will have to secure in the coming days. He needs 109 votes.
