The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) called on Wednesday to unify the Palestinian national efforts to confront what it called "Israeli piracy" on the funds of Palestinian families living inside, and they have children who are detained in Israeli prisons.

Hazem Qassem, a spokesman for the movement, said - in a statement, Anatolia received a copy of it - that the Israeli decision to withhold the funds of Palestinian families is a continuation of the Zionist war against the prisoners, as they are one of the most important symbols of the Palestinian issue, and they witnessed the criminalization of the Zionist enemy.

"This piracy practiced by Israel and its war minister (Naftali Bennett) - along with the successive Zionist measures against the prisoners - underscores the need to unify Palestinian national efforts to confront them and place them at the top of the program of work."

He continued that the Palestinian Authority is called upon not to surrender to the Zionist measure, and to initiate the return of the severed salaries of prisoners as part of the response to these decisions.

Earlier, Bennett announced the signing of orders to seize the money of 32 Palestinian families living inside, who have children who are detained in Israeli prisons.

"I have now signed orders to seize the money of 32 families (with Palestinian prisoners inside the Green Line) who receive money from the Palestinian Authority, and they hold Israeli citizenship," Bennett said in a tweet on Twitter.

He explained that the decision is in effect, and the money will be withheld in the coming hours. Bennett added that these families received funding from the Palestinian Authority for years, in exchange for acts committed by "terrorists", according to his claim.

The number of Palestinians inside the Green Line (48 Palestinians) is 916,000, or 21% of the total population in Israel, according to a report released last week by the Central Bureau of Statistics.

The Palestinian Authority allocates monthly payments to all detainees in Israeli prisons.

And last Sunday, the Israeli Miniature Security Cabinet (Cabinet) approved a proposal to deduct about 150 million shekels (approximately $ 43 million) from the Palestinian Authority's tax money (clearing revenues), the same amount that the Authority transferred in 2018 to families of martyrs and wounded families.
