The forces of the Libyan National Accord government announced that they repulsed today, Thursday, new attacks by the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Haftar, south of the capital Tripoli, and inflicted casualties on the attacking forces.

In a statement, Al-Wefaq forces said that the attacks that thwarted today took place in the axes of Salahuddin, Sidra and Al-Wadi Road.

In the details of the confrontations, Colonel Muhammad al-Qanuno's government forces spokesperson said that their forces destroyed a tank and a troop carrier, including those who attempted what he described as Haftar militia to infiltrate the Yarmouk axis.

Kanounou added, in statements published by the media center for the Operation Volcano Anger, that the heavy artillery targeted precisely the positions of the Haftar gunmen, who are supported by mercenaries, in the mixture axis, which is also south of the capital.

For his part, spokesperson for the media center for Operation Volcano of Wrath, Mustafa Al-Mujie, said in statements reported by the Anatolia News Agency that their forces were able to repel a ground and air attack by the Haftar militants in Salah al-Din axis.

Al-Mujai added that the Al-Wefaq forces managed during the attack to regain control of Al-Takbali camp in Salah Al-Din area completely, and confirmed that the Haftar gunmen suffered great losses in lives and equipment, and that the Al-Wefaq forces moved from the repelling stage to the attack.

In the past few days, Al-Wefaq government forces repelled two attempts by Haftar's forces to control the Tripoli airport road, and confirmed the killing of many of the attackers and the families of others in the two attempts.

Yesterday, I also spoke about the surrender of 25 armed Haftar gunmen in full equipment south of the Libyan capital. Although it has repeatedly set the "zero hour" for storming Tripoli, the attacking forces backed by Messair and Harbi's warfare, which began their offensive against the capital on April 4, have failed to reach their target.

Recently, Al-Wefaq forces released video clips it said confirmed the participation of Russian mercenaries from the Russian security company "Wagner" in the attack on the southern outskirts of Tripoli.

Targeting civilians
Also in the field, a woman was killed today by the fall of an indiscriminate shell in the Farnaj area of ​​Tripoli, in a new targeting of civilians by the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Haftar.

Earlier, four civilians were killed in an air strike by Haftar forces targeting a workshop and iron warehouse in Al-Suwani, adjacent to the fighting hubs south of the capital.

A military source from Al-Wefaq forces said that a Hafter plane bombed an Al-Wefaq site south of Tripoli without causing any injuries or damage, while random shells landed in the area of ​​Bin Ashour near the city center.

According to an Anadolu statistic published last November, the attack on Tripoli has killed more than 200 civilians and displaced more than 120,000 others.
