Dubai Municipality stated in a circular recently issued, that the service to amend the municipality fees on commercial licenses is now 100% digital, indicating that the completion of the service has become only through the electronic window designated for that.
The municipality indicated that this service can be easily accomplished through the Dubai Municipality online window and the website of Dubai Economic Department.
She pointed out that the service allows the customer to obtain a modification of the value calculated for the municipality fees imposed on commercial licenses issued by the Department of Economic Development in the Emirate of Dubai, represented by market fees, license holder fees, employee housing allowance fees, and workers housing allowance fees, so that fees are modified Markets based on the annual rental value of the commercial unit by calculating fees at 2.5% of the rental contract value.
The municipality programmed the system to change the value of market fees on commercial establishments from 5% to 2.5%, which includes all new and old commercial licenses upon renewal.
This came in response to the adoption by the Executive Council of the Dubai government of a set of incentive initiatives to promote economic growth in the emirate, including reducing and canceling a package of government fees, with the aim of enhancing the attractiveness of Dubai, and reducing the cost of doing business, in order to maintain the distinct investment environment in Dubai at the regional and international levels.
The Dubai Municipality aims to convert all the centers of Dubai Municipality into smart centers, and that all their dealings will be paper-based by 2021, allowing a reduction in the number of municipality auditors, based on its commitment to the Dubai Paperless Transaction Strategy, within the framework of Dubai Smart Initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, by adopting artificial intelligence technologies.
