The Security Media Cell in Iraq said that rockets landed at Baghdad International Airport and injured a number of citizens, while security sources said that the rockets landed near a joint site for American and Iraqi counter-terrorist forces south of the airport.

The Security Media Cell said in a statement posted on its Facebook page that three Katyusha rockets landed at Baghdad International Airport near the air cargo hall, and wounded a number of citizens.

Meanwhile, Iraqi security sources said that the airport was closed after hearing the sound of explosions near it late Thursday night, and added that military helicopters were flying in the area.

The sources pointed out that the explosions were caused by the fall of several missiles in the back area of ​​the airport, and added that they landed near a joint site for the international coalition and Iraqi counter-terrorist forces south of the airport.

Iraqi intelligence sources said that a missile landed near a building belonging to the international coalition forces, and that another missile hit the runway of the military airport, while a third missile hit a building belonging to the anti-terrorist center adjacent to the southern area of ​​the airport, while a fourth missile hit the external road to the airport.
