The Sharjah Criminal Court has examined a case in which 10 persons of multiple nationalities are accused of stealing vehicles belonging to car rental offices and impersonating the investigation men.

The court asked the accused from the first to the sixth about the charges against them of stealing cars, so they denied the charges, and said that they received one of the cars from the fourth accused, and sold them for 3,200 dirhams, and one of them indicated that he was a mediator to sell them without knowing that they were stolen.

While the court faced the seventh, eighth and ninth defendants with the charges against them, in possession of cars with the knowledge that they were stolen, they denied them, and said that they bought the cars in good faith.

The seventh defendant indicated that he paid a deposit of 3,500 dirhams until one of the defendants brought the sale papers of one of the cars to be registered in his name, and then delivered the remaining amount of 10 thousand dirhams.

The eighth defendant said that he wanted to buy a car from the eighth defendant in terms of the 10th defendant, and when trying the car and moving it from the place it was in, he was caught and arrested, indicating that he did not know that it was stolen, but rather wanted to buy it, as he was looking for a car at a reasonable price.

The Public Prosecution requested the conviction of all the accused, while the court decided to postpone the case to the date of January 7th, to hear the victims ’statements and summon them.
