The Federal National Council will hold its second session of its first regular session for the seventeenth legislative session, on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at the headquarters of the Council in Abu Dhabi, headed by Speaker Saqr Ghobash, during which he will discuss two draft laws, address two questions to government representatives, and transmit six draft laws received from Government to the relevant committees.
The Council is discussing two bills received from the committees: a federal bill to amend some provisions of Federal Law No. 5 of 1992 regarding the Police College, and a federal bill in the matter of education.
In the question item, the First Deputy Speaker of the Council, Hamad Al Rahoumi, directs two questions, the first on "Ministerial Decision No. (468) of 2019 regarding the regulation of surface fishing by barbering (hedging)," to the Minister of Climate Change and Environment Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zyoudi, and the second on " Preparing state classes and government schools in the country, "to the Minister of Education Hussein bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi.
According to the agenda of the session, the council transmits six draft laws received from the government to the relevant committees, namely .. a federal bill to cancel the decree of Federal Law No. (3) for the year 2013 to establish and organize the office of the representative of the President of the State. As a matter of urgency, it was referred by a decision of the president to the Committee for Constitutional, Legislative and Appeals challenges And a federal draft law on consumer protection for referral to the Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee, and a federal draft law amending some provisions of Federal Law No. (18) for the year 1981 regarding the regulation of commercial agencies for referral to the Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee, in addition to A federal law regarding amending some provisions of Federal Law No. (1) of 2019 regarding the diplomatic and consular corps, for referral to the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee, and a federal draft law regarding amending some provisions of Federal Law No. (11) of 2018 regarding the organization of a ministry Foreign and International Cooperation, for referral to the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee, and a federal draft law amending some provisions of Federal Law No. (5) of 1992 regarding the Police College, was referred as a matter of urgency by decision of the President to the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee.
In the context of the messages received by the council .. the council looks at two letters from the Minister of Health and Community Protection and Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad Al Owais, the first on "a request to discuss a federal law regarding" cooperatives "as a matter of urgency, and the second about the cabinet decision Concerning the recommendations of the Federal National Council regarding the subject of “the Ministry of Justice policy regarding the legal profession.
