During Christmas and New Year, celebrities get a chance to host the British BBC show "Today". Prince Harry and actor Angelina Jolie have already done so and today it was the Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg's turn. She became the first Swedish to lead the program.

"Very inspiring"

She interviewed TV legend and zoologist David Attenborough, who worked on climate issues.

- I hope you understand what a difference you have made and that we are grateful for it. Thank you for devoting your life to this. It is very inspiring, said Greta Thunberg.

Thank the climate activist

David Attenborough was also not late to pay tribute to the 16-year-old:

- You have achieved things that many of us have not succeeded in 20 years. You have awakened the world. I am very grateful for that.
