After his aborted return to Côte d'Ivoire, Guillaume Soro, ex-leader of the Ivorian rebellion and presidential candidate in 2020, promises to "organize resistance" to President Alassane Ouattara, from Paris.

In the pages of the Journal du Dimanche (JDD), the former president of the Ivorian Assembly takes stock of his situation and his political ambition which remains intact, despite the international arrest warrant issued by the Ivorian justice which accuses him of " attempting to attack the authority of the State " and of having wanted to foment " a civil and military insurrection ".

" Misleading " accusations and " political " prosecutions that will not be followed up, according to the opponent, who calls himself " victim of manipulation " like " President Lula in Brazil ".

From Paris where he is and where he intends to stay, Guillaume Soro promises to organize a resistance not armed but " political ".

In this interview, he first gives his version of his failed return to Côte d'Ivoire . According to him, it was a " control tower in Niger " which warned " that it was dangerous to land at Abidjan airport ", due to " an abnormal deployment of police forces " . The jet pilot refused to land because he believed that " an assault on the aircraft was possible ".

Back in France " with a normal visa ", Guillaume Soro assures that he does not benefit from " any particular assistance " and says "to have no contact with the Elysée ". Moreover, his words are harsh when he evokes President Emmanuel Macron, accused of having lacked " courage and maturity " during his recent meeting with Alassane Ouattara, qualified, as for him, of " autocrat ". " In the name of juicy contracts, we are therefore ready to close our eyes to the trampling of democracy in Africa ", tackle Guillaume Soro.

Still a candidate for the Ivorian presidential election, Soro claims that he has concluded an electoral agreement with the former Ivorian president Henri Konan Bédié. " We are both going to the first round and the best placed will support the other in the second, " he said while the ex-president, until then remained elusive on his possible candidacy.

For Guillaume Soro, " Mr. Ouattara has just invented the pre-electoral crisis " and according to him, " the political class must organize to fight this ".
