• Movements.Carles Puigdemont maneuver not to lose the Generalitat

ERC reacted firmly yesterday to the maneuver of Quim Torra and Carles Puigdemont to remove the Republican Pere Aragonès from the vice presidency of the Government and thus avoid assuming the presidency of the Generalitat when the president is disabled by the Supreme Court.

"We have a government agreement that we have to be able to respect," warned ERC spokeswoman Marta Vilalta, after EL MUNDO published Torra and Puigdemont's plans to replace Aragonès with a JxCat advisor and guarantee, in this way, that a neoconvergent assumes the presidency of the Generalitat until the convening of the Catalan regional elections, once Torra is evicted from the office of Justice.

"I don't think it's a firm proposal," Vilalta added, to deter JxCat from trying to force a modification of the Catalan Executive in order to take over the vice presidency to the detriment of ERC.

Already on Thursday, in conversation with this newspaper, a position of the leadership of the Republicans claimed to be "suffering a little" with the idea of the neoconvergents . ERC has no intention of giving its arm to twist and the public appearance of Vilalta seek to abort the maneuver of Puigdemont and Torra before even the president is tempted to transfer it to the Executive Council of the Government.

Torrent does not want to invest again in Torra

But not only the eventual replacement of Aragonès faces ERC and JxCat. The formation chaired by Oriol Junqueras is also disturbed by Torra's intention to impose a kind of investiture in the Parliament for the Catalan Chamber to ratify his "support" after being condemned by the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) for disobeying the order of the Central Electoral Board that forced him to remove the banner supporting the independence prisoners on the facade of the Palau de la Generalitat during the electoral cycle.

The president of the Parliament, also the leader of ERC Roger Torrent, resists Torra using the Chamber to become a martyr, which would favor the projection and electoral recovery of JxCat at a decisive moment, something that Republicans want to avoid all coast to guarantee victory in the next regional. Today, according to the Generalitat's demography, ERC would obtain up to 10 seats more than the neoconvergents in an election to the Parliament, but those of Junqueras distrust the Puigdemont brand, which already cut two deputies in the generals of 10-N and that in the elections of 21-D - those after the application of 155 - was imposed on ERC after leaving behind in the polls.

Hence, yesterday Vilalta demanded that JxCat "agree" the response to the firm disqualification of Torra. "We have to agree on the steps that have to be taken, either in the decisions of the Government or in those of the Parliament," said the spokeswoman for ERC, who also called on her Government partners "to stop competing to see who is more independentist or less traitor ».
