Woman was sent home from hospital after attempted suicide - died two weeks later

The woman, who was 55 years old, was taken by ambulance to the hospital after trying to commit suicide by overdosing on insulin. She

The doctor states that during the examination he made the assessment that the woman did not have such a serious mental disorder that forced care was relevant. He also believes that the woman refused to have suicidal thoughts, and that she did not want continued hospitalization.

A relative of the woman made a report to the IVO who now criticizes the doctor, saying that the psychiatric examination that was done was inadequate. This was partly due to the fact that possible suicidal thoughts were not adequately investigated, and that there was no indication that the patient would have objected to inpatient care.
