The man was murdered in front of his family's eyes - his wife and young child - outside his home in the Battersea district of south-west London.

The lone perpetrator fled after firing several shots.

Police say that progress is being made in the investigation, among other things, images from surveillance cameras in the area are being analyzed, but on Friday no arrests had been made.

According to the London Police, there are suspicions that the man was involved in crime in Sweden. They have therefore contacted the Swedish police for help in investigating if there could be someone who wanted to take revenge on the man.

Was previously resident in Malmö

The National Operational Department (Noa) confirms that the Swedish police is connected, but is otherwise unprepared.

"There is preliminary investigation confidentiality and we cannot go into it," says Jonas Beltrame-Linné at the police's national media center to TT.

The 36-year-old, who moved to London a few years ago, previously lived in Malmö and was acquainted with the boyfriend of Karolin Hakim, who was shot dead on an open street in Malmö in August - a murder in which the boyfriend is suspected to have been the real target. The link is confirmed by Chief Prosecutor Pär Andersson, preliminary investigator in the Malmö case:

- What is very striking is that he is shot to death when he is with wife and children. In the same way that Karolin Hakim was shot dead while holding her child, Pär Andersson tells Sydsvenskan.
