“We have a number of questions for the American side on the implementation of certain provisions of the agreement. These issues are dealt with by the bilateral treaty advisory commission. We hope that all problems will be resolved, ”he said in an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.
Fomin specified that the Russian side showed the Avangard missile system to American inspectors in November.
“This step is a confirmation of our rigorous fulfillment of obligations under the agreement, aimed primarily at ensuring the viability and effectiveness of its implementation,” he said.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow and Washington could now agree to extend START III to reassure the international community.
