Yesterday, an Iraqi news report stated that Qusay al-Suhail apologized for assigning him to head the Iraqi government, while the "Building Alliance" delegation and his candidate for the post of Prime Minister, Governor of Basra Asaad Al-Eidani, left the Peace Palace after meeting with President Barham Saleh, without assignment, while hundreds were common in southern Iraq Yesterday, an activist died of his wounds 10 days ago in his car's explosion.

In detail, the site «Alsumaria News» published a picture of a document that he said was “issued by the candidate of the Construction Alliance for Prime Minister Qusay al-Suhail, including his apology for assigning the prime minister.”

The text of the document reads: “Brothers in the Construction Alliance. I highly value your candidacy to us as the largest bloc, and because the circumstances are not favorable and prepared according to our appreciation for such a commission, I would like you to agree to accept my apologies for it, and I wish you success in choosing whom you deem appropriate as a substitute for us.

A parliamentary source reported that the Construction Alliance had sent an official letter nominating Al-Suhail to head the next government.

Iraq witnessed demonstrations denouncing Al-Suhail's nomination to form the new Iraqi government, and the demonstrators demanded that his candidacy be withdrawn and that an alternative be accepted by the public.

In the same context, the delegation of the "Building Alliance", and its candidate for the position of Prime Minister Asaad Al-Eidani, left the Peace Palace after meeting with President Barham Saleh, without assignment, after the revelation of the candidacy of the "Building Alliance" to head the new government.

The decision came after a meeting held at dawn yesterday, at the home of Hadi Al-Amri, who leads the Badr militia, and he also heads 50% with former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, the "Construction Alliance."

And media reports have previously expected that Al-Aidani, who is the governor of Basra, will face the fate of many names that have been excluded during the past days, especially as it is linked to the minds of many by trying to attack demonstrators in the southern governorate during protests witnessed a year ago.

The "Building Alliance" had previously presented Minister of Higher Education Qusay al-Suhail as a candidate for prime minister, replacing Adel Abdul-Mahdi, who had resigned in early December under the pressure of protests sweeping Iraq since last October.

But the name Suhail was excluded after the demonstrators rejected his candidacy, and Iraqi President Barham Salih expressed his refusal to assign any candidate who is not accepted by the street.

And protest demonstrations entered Iraq today, its third month in a row, since its inception on the first of last October in Baghdad and nine southern provinces.

And pretending squares announced yesterday morning, it refused to nominate Asaad Al-Eidani by the building coalition to form the new government.

Al-Eidani is the last name in a list that included Muhammad Shi'a Al-Sudani, Azza Al-Shabandar, Ibrahim Bahr Al-Ulum, Qusai Al-Suhail, and Abdul-Hussein Abtan, who were all rejected by the demonstrators and torn their photos in the pretending squares.

The demonstrators in Iraq say they want an independent candidate who is far from the political parties to take over the Iraqi government, which will manage the country's affairs in the transitional phase before the upcoming elections.

And the demonstrators in Iraq are still continuing the protests and blocking the roads to refuse to nominate certain political figures for the position of head of the new government, to succeed Adel Abdul-Mahdi.

The demonstrators demonstrated great ability during the past days, as they did not acquiesce to any candidate presented by the Iranian-backed parties, especially those who previously worked with the Iraqi government in any of its periods after the US invasion in 2003, and forced them to exclude them.

The political struggle in Iraq rages between the "Saeroon" bloc led by Muqtada al-Sadr and the "construction" led by al-Amiri al-Maliki. Each one insists that it is the largest bloc, and therefore entitled to nominate the prime minister.

On the ground, protesters cut three main bridges in Dhi Qar Governorate, southern Iraq, in protest against the candidacy of political figures for the prime minister.

Hundreds of people died in southern Iraq, yesterday, Thaer Al-Tayeb, an activist, who died from wounds sustained 10 days ago in his car explosion, where Thaer Al-Tayeb, a well-known activist in Diwaniya, joined the popular movement three months ago in Tahrir Square in central Baghdad, the center of the unprecedented uprising that swept Iraq .

On December 15, during a visit with another activist, Ali al-Madani, to his city, 200 km south of Baghdad, the two men were wounded in the al-Tayyib car explosion.

Yesterday, hundreds of protesters participated in the funeral of al-Tayyib, carrying his coffin under a large Iraqi flag.
