The abuse took place between July and November this year at home in the spouses' home. On repeated occasions, the man struck the woman and threw things at her. He also subjected the woman to abusive comments and threatened to kill her.
The man has been convicted of gross violation of women once before, even then against his wife. The fact that the man has returned to crime, which also happened before the probation for his previous sentence expired, means the district court means that a penalty other than prison cannot be considered.
The man must also pay SEK 32,800 in damages to the woman.
