According to statistics, from January 1, 2019, gasoline rose by only 1.9%, for the first time since 2016, giving way to the general inflation rate.

In the Ministry of Energy and the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the main factors of such dynamics are government measures, including compensation for producers of a portion of lost profits when delivering fuel to the domestic market instead of exports.

According to the head of the Department of the Ministry of Finance, Alexei Sazanov, the damper allowed to contain fuel price hike by 15%.

Another factor in containing gas station prices at the Ministry of Energy is the increase in motor fuel production.

In addition, experts announced a decrease in demand for gasoline and stabilization of world oil prices.

Analysts predict that next year fuel price increases above inflation are also not forecasted.

Earlier, the head of the Russian Fuel Union, Yevgeny Arkusha, in an interview with the NSN, commented on reports of falling demand for gasoline.
