CastAway aspires to introduce a new foldable cover for smartphones, which includes on one side a built-in screen while the phone is placed on the other side, and by linking the two screens together the user has a foldable phone with two separate screens, with the wide options it provides New features.

The Cast Away cover allows the user to open more than one application together, copy and paste between screens, and access files and images from either.

Castaway puts the idea of ​​this cover on the "Indigogo" platform to attract crowdfunding for this project, and its goal was to raise $ 50 thousand to start implementation, but it seems that the idea of ​​the project attracted interest so far it has collected more than 323 thousand dollars, an increase of 646% from the goal Advertiser, with five days left to end the campaign.

According to the company, the user can link the additional screen integrated into the cover - which works on Google's Chrome system - with any smartphone running "Android" or "iOS" to provide it with multitasking easily.

The user also has a dual boot option, allowing him to quickly convert the screen into a large keyboard, trackpad (similar to a laptop) or a game controller for his smartphone.

The additional screen comes with a high-definition screen, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology, two front and back cameras and headphone input, and supports SD memory cards to increase storage capacity and transfer photos from the phone to it.

Besides, the battery included in this additional screen can act as a power source for the smartphone.

The casing uses a magnetic bonding technology between the two parts, and the company holds its patent, so that the two screens can be separated or easily connected together.

The cover will be available upon launch - according to the information provided by the company on the Indigogo website - in three different sizes, to support a wide range of smartphones of different sizes. These measurements are:

The company notes that the team developing the cover includes product designer Joe Gasinski, former head of Dell's Industrial Design division, as well as former Microsoft and Intel executives.

The company hopes to begin rolling out this packaging to consumers in May 2020, at a price of $ 199.
