“The heads of the foreign affairs agencies discussed the peace process in the Syrian Arab Republic, including the problems of providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Syria, and the prospects for cooperation between the two countries to help stabilize the situation in Libya,” the Russian diplomatic service said in a statement.

The Foreign Ministry said that the negotiations were initiated by the Turkish side.

Earlier, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that on December 23 the Turkish delegation will leave for Moscow to discuss the situation in Syria.
