It is noted that this initiative is aimed at combating the illegal market, including one-day firms that are connected to EGAIS but do not produce beer.

In particular, it is proposed to extend EGAIS for beer to retail sales and public catering, which will simplify accounting, follows from the text of the project. Currently, the system only tracks beer to the point of sale.

The bill also proposes to extend the installation of counters of production sizes to a larger number of brewers - they should be installed by manufacturers producing from 100 thousand decaliters of beer per year.

Currently, they are put by those who produce more than 300 thousand decalitres.

The document also proposes to create a register of brewers. This has previously been proposed by the Ministry of Finance as an alternative to licensing.

Earlier, the newspaper Izvestia reported that manufacturers proposed to remove the restriction on the sale of beer drinks in Russia with a strength of more than 7%. It was reported that they intend to initiate amendments to the EAEU technical regulation “On the safety of alcoholic beverages” in order to open the import into Russia of strong varieties of craft beer available on international markets.
