It is a first for a CAC 40 company: justice declared Friday December 20 France Telecom and its ex-leaders guilty of "moral harassment" concerning the wave of suicides which hit the company at the end of the 2000s.
The company is sentenced to a maximum fine of 75,000 euros. The former leaders, the ex-CEO, the ex-number 2 and the ex-HRD, were sentenced to one year in prison including eight months suspended and 15,000 euros fine, for having set up a policy of downsizing "to the endian" over the 2007-2008 period.
