The Swedish Democrats continue to win support from the Swedish voters and for the first time ever, SD is the biggest in the SVT / Novus voter barometer. However, the difference between the Social Democrats and the SD is 0.3 percentage points and within the margin of error. The Swedish Democrats now list their highest listing ever with 24%.

- The Swedish Democrats are the only party that has not had the power, directly or indirectly and is therefore perceived by many as the only opposition alternative, says Torbjörn Sjöström, CEO of Novus.

The Social Democrats back 2.3 percentage points and gain 23.7 percent. However, S is still above the bottom listing from January 2012, just before Håkan Juholt resigned as party leader. Both the rise for SD and the decline for S are statistically guaranteed.

"Declaration of disbelief lowered S"

Two political events characterized the investigation period in November and December. The first was Prime Minister Stefan Löfven's (S) criticized interview in the SVT Agenda and the second, the threat of distrust of Labor Minister Eva Nordmark (S) for the reform of the Employment Service.

- We saw how the result developed week by week and how it lowered S and raised SD, says Torbjörn Sjöström, CEO of Novus.

The Social Democrats mainly lose voters to those who say they would not vote if it were elections today, but voters also go to SD and to M.

The Swedish Democrats mainly take voters from the Moderates but also from the Christian Democrats and the Social Democrats.

The Left Party continues to increase by 0.6 percentage points and is currently at 9.9%, an unusually large voter support for the Party
