The plaintiffs, Uddevalla Municipality and Uddevalla pastorate, believe that damages have occurred for almost SEK 700,000. The man who is prosecuted in the Uddevalla District Court acknowledges the damage in one of the 20 cases but denies the crime in other respects.

- The evidence situation looks good, there are witnesses and surveillance films and connections between different acts. Some have happened in close proximity to both time and place, which means that we think we can associate the perpetrator with 20 cases where damage has been done, says Petter Lundgren, Chamber Prosecutor in Uddevalla.

"It's about irrational action"

Among other things, the accused man is suspected of spraying the numbers 666 on a church, but chamber prosecutor Petter Lundgren says there are no underlying motives.

- The investigation in general has not come up with any specific motive for the damage, but it seems to be an irrational act, he says.

Two parties will demand financial compensation

The trial has a preliminary start date of January 2. The defendant is Uddevalla municipality and Uddevalla pastorate, both of which have been subjected to great damage. In total, they claim compensation of SEK 683,392.

To Bohusläningen, the Deputy Director of Uddevalla Peter Larsson says that he is very satisfied with how the police have worked with the damage and that their work has led to prosecution.

In the prosecution, it appears that the crimes are considered serious since the defendant must have systematically carried out the damage and that it has caused significant damage to Uddevalla municipality and Uddevalla pastorate.
